In some online discussions, users refer to a separate or “TikTok 成人版” application. Historically, in certain regions (e.g., Japan, South Korea), TikTok briefly tested a separate app for users 18+ that allowed slightly more mature content, but it never contained explicit adult material . TikTok has always prohibited pornography, nudity, or sexually explicit content.

TikTok is currently testing (using facial scanning to guess your age range) via a company called Yoti. By 2026, the "TikTok 18 application" may be replaced by a 5-second selfie scan. Until then, hard IDs remain the standard.

The "TikTok 18 application" is not a legitimate product. Seeking it out puts you at high risk of malware and personal data theft. TikTok remains a platform aimed at a general, diverse audience, and it is actively improving its tools to manage content suitability without creating a separate "18+" app.

Open the TikTok app and go to your (bottom right). Tap the three lines (menu icon) in the top right corner, then select Settings and privacy . From there, scroll down and tap Report a problem under the "Support" section.
