Firmware updates often include optimizations for the router’s internal wireless driver. This improves signal routing, enhances handling of multiple simultaneous device connections, and ensures you get the maximum throughput possible from your ADSL connection. Prerequisites: Before You Begin the Update

Never update router firmware over Wi-Fi. If the wireless signal drops during the installation, it can permanently corrupt the device ("brick" the router). Plug your computer directly into one of the HG532e LAN ports using an Ethernet cable.
